Angiogenesis/related diseases

The formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing vasculature, termed ¡°angiogenesis¡± is tightly regulated under normal physiological conditions, but failure in the regulation of angiogenesis is related to many diseases.
The development of anti-angiogenic multifunctional drugs and nutraceuticals targets a variety of angiogenesis-dependent diseases including cancer, arthritis, ocular disease, psoriasis, and obesity. More than 70 diseases have been identified as potential indications of the anti-angiogenic approach.
